Doug Kloet, Coach
Doug Kloet grew up in the independent automotive repair world. His first job, as a 12 year old, was to cut grass and sweep the parking lot at his father’s Main Street East Esso service station. As a teenager, Doug considered either becoming an auto mechanic or going to business school as his future career path. Doug graduated from the Ivey School of Business at Western University in London in 1988 and then came back to work for his father at Glendale Motors in Ancaster, initially on a short-term basis to setup Pace invoicing software, and then continued on as a Service Advisor.
Since then Doug has expanded the business many times, adding more bays and car washes and has profited from being a part of various Focus Groups. Recently, when the opportunity to help Alan Beech with his automotive coaching business became available, Doug enrolled in, and successfully completed the Co-Active Coaching Fundamentals course with The Coaches Training Institute.
Doug lives in Ancaster with his wife Val and has two university aged daughters, neither of whom wish to become an auto mechanic!
